Pretty Phungwako is one of the millions of orphaned children in South Africa.
Pretty’s story
Pretty’s life changed from depression and hopelessness, to being an inspiration and a role model in her community. “The Phungwako family moved into a Mosaic House in 2010, and since then our lives have never been the same.
My name in Martha Phungwako, I am 48 years old and my hobbies are reading, being around positive people and spending time with my family. I am taking care of four wonderful children: Pretty, Masedi, Bongani and Odirile. Pretty is the oldest, and she’s been busy with her nursing course at Ukwazi School of Nursing, and was at the top of her class in 2017. Since Mosaic took us in, then wonders started to happen. I wasn’t gonna be able to take her to “tertiary”, but Mosaic has given her an opportunity to further her studies through Mosaic After-School Bursaries.
This is not all – she is a great inspiration to all the Mosaic children; they look up to her, and she even helps in the After-School program at the centre.”
Mosaic
Our vision is for every orphan and vulnerable child in South Africa to have a loving and caring family, where they can be equipped to realize their God-given potential.
